Ingredients for the Kreatosoupa Recipe

  • 1 kg beef, diced into 2-inch cubes
  • 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 3 celery sticks, sliced
  • 2 onions, finely diced
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1.5 litres of beef stock
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp of dried thyme
  • 1 tsp each of salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Juice and zest of one lemon

How to Make the Kreatosoupa Recipe

  1. Add the olive oil to a large pan and put over high heat.
  2. Then, add the beef to the pan and saute for five minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure the beef is nicely browned on all sides.
  3. Next, add the onions, carrots, and celery to the pan and saute for another two minutes.
  4. Add the potatoes, bay leaves, and thyme to the pan, then cover with the beef stock. Stir all the ingredients together.
  5. Cover the pan with a lid and turn down the heat of the hob to low, then cook for approximately two hours until all the ingredients are tender.
  6. Season the soup with salt, black pepper, lemon juice, and lemon zest, stir the ingredients together, and cook for another five minutes.
